The world was a troubled place. Uniting most of the western world into one powerful nation, the Global United Nations (or Global United for short) set their goal for world peace, through world domination. Seeing mostly to their own interest another super nation rose, naming itself the Complex of Asia and sworn enemies against the G.U.'s quest for world domination. Stuck in the middle; the United Europe took a stance of neutrality, and through that prospering something fierce through trading between the two superpowers.

In the middle of Europe United, a young captain on a small cargo vessel planned to live his dreams. He had bought an old fuel cell driven ship, hired himself a rag tag crew consisting of people both loyal and disloyal to the GU, COA and UE alike. Best way of getting different groupings working together, he figured, was to throw a small party night before they were to lift their moorings.

It was all quiet, oh so quiet. The sounds of yesterday echoed silently in the back of his head, and something in the air smelt very strange. Oliver Beckett, a deck hand with dreams of being a captain, woke up with a strong feeling of unease. Perhaps this wouldn't be his best day ever.
